Landscape Ecology Doctoral Communication Award

Please read the participation guidelines below carefully before applying for the competition.

Who can participate?

The call for applications is open to students currently enrolled in a PhD program or individuals who have obtained their doctorate within the last year, in any academic discipline. There is no age limit.

What documents need to be submitted?

  • A summary of the communication and
  • A CV.

To allow the jury, which will review numerous applications, to quickly gain an overview, you must provide a summary of up to 500 characters (including spaces). The goal is to concisely highlight the societal relevance of your research. The summary should capture interest.

You are free to choose the title of your contribution; it does not need to match the title of your thesis.

How to participate?

Registration for the Best Doctoral Communication Award and submission of all required documents must be done via email to the following address: aude.zingraff-hamed@engees.unistra.fr. Please send a single PDF file (containing all the documents) titled: LASTNAME_PhDAward_IALEFR. The maximum file size is 25 MB.

Participation in the conference and an oral presentation during the REP25 conference are mandatory.

Submission deadline

The submission deadline is February 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

After the submission deadline, the documents will be made available to the jury. Once the competition is over, all documents will remain in a secure database and will be securely deleted or destroyed after a certain period.

Legal Notices

By participating in the Best Doctoral Communication Award in Landscape Ecology, you confirm that the submitted contribution was independently written without external assistance. You agree to present your contribution in person to the jury if selected and to make it available to IALE-FR for publications and public relations activities. You grant IALE-FR the right to use your summary in an edited or abridged version.

You also agree that your personal data will be stored and processed internally and may be accessed for presenting the competition results. This data will be used exclusively for processing your application and for communication activities related to the Award. It will not be shared with third parties for advertising purposes. If selected, we will publish your name, the university where you obtained your doctorate, and the title of your contribution.

All personal data will be handled and stored confidentially in accordance with French data protection laws and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Please inform us if you do not agree with this procedure. If your application is not successful, your personal data will be deleted no later than six months after the end of the competition.

The jury's decision is final.
