The Invisible River: A Treasure Beneath the Rhine Plain
Documentary
Directed by Serge Dumont • Written by Serge Dumont
France, Germany • 2019 • 52 minutes • HD • Color

Beneath the Rhine plain flows an invisible river—an aquifer ecosystem where water and life carve their path. This water can be glimpsed in rare places, where it bursts forth under subterranean pressure, forming crystal-clear streams. Within this pure water, a unique form of life thrives. However, this treasure is under threat from invasive species, intensive agriculture, and irrigation practices that dry up the rivers.
